Five Year Science Plan for the Tampa Bay Study
Project Leader: Kimberly Yates - April 15, 2003

Task 4: Wetlands - Facilitate Wetland Restoration through Experimentation and Modeling

4a. Provide baseline data critical to judging success of wetland restoration, assist in the experimental design of landscape level restoration (including hydrological modification) and monitor impacts.

4b. Verify and quantify historical wetland vegetation changes in areas where there has been apparent conversion of salt marsh to mangrove forest.

4c. Correlate changes in vegetation on both short (year to year, Objective 4e results) and longer (Task 3 results) time-scales to physical variables (e.g. freshwater run-off, salinity, contaminants, elevation, etc.), climate change, and sea-level rise.
