Five Year Science Plan for the Tampa Bay Study
Project Leader: Kimberly Yates - April 15, 2003

Task 2: Water and Sediment Quality - Map and Quantify Sediment Contaminants and Resuspension
2d. Map the distribution of contaminants and toxic chemicals within Tampa Bay based on random stratified sampling methods using immunoassay and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry techniques. Critical Science Gaps IIB and IIC.

2e. Map total organic and inorganic carbon in Tampa Bay and normalize organic contaminant data to organic content of sediments. This will enable bay-wide comparison of sediment contaminants and identification of contaminant hot spots. Critical Science Gap IIB and IIC.

2f. Quantify suspended particles on a seasonal basis to validate sediment transport and sediment resuspension models. Critical Science Gaps IIB and IIE.
