Five Year Science Plan for the Tampa Bay Study
Project Leader: Kimberly Yates - April 15, 2003

Task 1: Mapping - High Resolution Mapping

1c. Characterize the structural geology of Tampa Bay using seismics and its potential impact on estuarine processes such as groundwater location and movement, and to facilitate reconstruction of the prehistory and history of Tampa Bay. Critical Science Gaps IA and IB.

1d. Map the distribution of benthic habitats and sediments in Tampa Bay for incorporation into predictive models, and for validation of remotely sensed mapping techniques. Critical Science Gaps IA, IC, and IF.

1e. Map (bay-wide) critical water quality parameters for validation and calibration of water quality and circulation components of an integrated model, and establish the relation between water quality and habitat distribution. Critical Science Gaps IA and ID.
