Five Year Science Plan for the Tampa Bay Study
Project Leader: Kimberly Yates - April 15, 2003

Task 3: History and Prehistory - Model the Historic Evolution of Tampa Bay

3c. Reconstruct temporal and geographic changes in environmental conditions (including salinity, temperature, freshwater inflow, water quality, local climate change and sea level rise) using paleontological and geochemical characterization of cores. Historical and predictive models of sea level rise will facilitate long-term management of restoration sites.

3d.Create historic and predictive models of the impact of urbanization on evolution of vegetation in the bay, sedimentation rates, sediment contaminants, water quality (including salinity, nutrients and temperature) by coupling historical geospatial data sets with the urbanization model. Critical Science Gap IB.
