Introduction:
Comparison of 1952 and 1999 aerial photography of the Feather Sound area shows that almost all of the seagrass present in 1952 had been lost by 1999.
Because of the extensive sub-aquatic vegetation (SAV) loss at this site and its extremely slow recovery, we attempted to relate the spatial and temporal pattern of seagrass loss at this site to major human impacts and natural phenomena over the past 60 years. We hoped to identify key events or processes that led to seagrass loss.
