Results: SAV Loss by Depth:
- Between 1942 and 1952, SAV cover declined in all four depth strata, with the greatest decline in the shallow zone (SHL, 0.5 m > z <1.0 m).
- From 1952 to 1965, SAV cover increased in shallow (SHL) and very shallow (VSH, z < 0.5 m) areas, while moderate (MOD, 1.0-1.5 m) and deep (DEP, >1.5 m) regions experienced losses.
- Between 1965 and 1999, SAV cover declined continuously in all depth categories. Also, during this time, the mean cover class showed the same pattern of decreasing coverage with increasing depth.
- On the other hand, in 1942 and 1952 this was not the case. In 1942, SHL had the greatest coverage, followed by MOD, VSH, and DEP. Greatest coverage in 1952 was in MOD depths, followed by SHL, VSH, and DEP. DEP regions had consistently lower mean coverage values than the other depth categories.
