Figure 4. The adaptive capabilities of the lidar system provide the ability to map a wide range of environments in a single flight (e.g., coral reefs, sandy beaches, coastal vegetation, trees, etc.), while its waveform-resolving capabilities can potentially provide information about the internal structure of the forest canopy and the water column.
