The Suwannee River watershed is situated in rural Georgia and Florida. Be prepared for wilderness. The OERC is located in downtown Folkston, GA, a town best known for 'train watching'. Folkston is a short 11 mile drive from the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. There are no big city ammenities, but there are plenty of opportunities to experience the wilderness of the Okefenokee Swamp.
