Evaluating Loss of Wetlands in the Galveston Bay Area
Digital Ortho Quarterquads

Because 1/2 meter Lamberts were not available for Chambers county, the contractor allowed DOQs to be the reference data for that portion of the study area (Figure 2). A DOQ is a computer-generated image of an aerial photograph in which image displacement caused by terrain relief and camera tilts has been removed. It combines the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. DOQs are produced by the United State Geological Survey (USGS) from large scale CIR aerial photography flown from 1995 to 1996 as part of the National Aerial Photography Program (NAPP).
Projection information for this data is as follows:

Projection: UTM
Datum: NAD83
Units: Meters
Zone: 14N
